Celebration for our Centenarian

On the 12th November 2006, about one hundred and twenty people came to celebrate the one hundred years of our venerated jubilarian, Brother Omer Ouellet. The festivities were held at our house at St-Jean-sur-Richesecteur Iberville.
Present at the celebration were about forty-five relatives of the jubilarian: great-nephews and nieces and undoubtedly great-great-nephews and nieces. More than seventy brothers were also present as well as Bishop François Lapierre, bishop of Saint-Hyacinthe.

A short religious ceremony took place in the house?s chapel. Then everyone headed for the dining room where tributes were paid to the jubilarian and messages from religious and civil authorities were read.

Brother Omer, despite his deafness, seemed to greatly appreciate all the tributes and he asked his great-niece, Mrs Claire Pimparé, to thank all the people who had come to celebrate with him.
