CMMF of Brasil Centro-Norte launches an E-Book to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the movement

The 24 fraternities of the Champagnat Movement of the Marist Family of the Marist Province of Brasil Centro-Norte have launched an E-book to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the Champagnat Movement, with the aim of preserving the memory of all the Fraternities and preserving the spirit that gave rise to the lay Marist vocation in the Movement.

The e-book, launched on 29 August, the month dedicated to vocations, consists of 184 pages telling the story of the movement’s journey, from the first fraternities (see launch of the e-book).

“As we celebrate 35 years of journey and so many achievements, this e-book records the commitment of all those who, through their daily yes, adhere to the proposal of fraternal life dreamt by Marcellin Champagnat,” said Br Ataide José de Lima, Provincial.

The compilation of all the material – all the testimonies, people’s experiences, history of the journeys so far – began in February 2020 through several virtual meetings, dialogues with all the animators of the active fraternities and fraternities that have already completed their activities. It also includes the testimonies of people who made history in the CMMF.

Referring to the future of the movement, Br Ataide said: “In order not to celebrate only what has happened, I leave here one more challenge for the future: what can the members of the Champagnat Movement of the Marist Family do so that other people (young people, students, family members, collaborators, Christians…) feel attracted by the proposal of fraternal life of the CMMF and thus guarantee another 35 years of history? Celebrating the past without projecting the future of what we believe in is like throwing the good seed into the desert sand. The personal adherence of each brother and sister to the teachings of Marcellin is the best expression of the vitality, dynamism and richness of the CMMF for the Church, for the Marist Institute and for its members in these 35 years of history. We wish all our brothers and sisters a good reading and a happy celebration with the blessings of Mary, our Good Mother, and Saint Marcellin Champagnat”.
