Course ?Amanecer? (Dawn or Daybreak) in Rome

The course for the Third Age in Spanish and Portuguese, for Brothers from 70 to 80 years of age, which was held from September 1 to October 31, has been finished. 

The 18 participants of the course “Amanecer,” which was directed by Brothers Landelino Ortego y Javier Ocaranza, included 15 Marist Brothers and three Marianist Brothers from Spain, Mexico, Venezuela, Ecuador, Peru, Brazil, Portugal and Mozambique.
One of the participants said: “Soon we knew one another and gradually created profound fraternal bonds of union, in the style of the first Christians, with the desire to profit to the maximum of this course which is offered to us”.
The course was centered on the anthropological axis, the spiritual and the Marist axis.  

During the anthropological axis, the participants discussed the knowledge of an elderly person, integral health, maturity in religious life and inter-personal relationships.  

The spiritual axis covered the personal history of salvation, the following of Jesus and the commitment, the mission of the elderly in the Bible and prayer and centrality in Christ. 

The Marist axis dealt with the Charism of Marcelin, Marian spirituality, the vision of the Institute by the Superior General, Brother Emili Turú, the Year La Valla and the celebration of the Bicentenary.     They also discussed the mission of the Laity in the Church and in the Institute, as well as the relationship of the Brothers with the Laity.

The participants visited Rome and its surroundings such as Cerveteri, Albano Lake, Frascati, Viterbo and Bolsena.  They also made some pilgrimages to Assisi, Subiaco, the Catacombs of San Calixto, the Shrine of Divino Amore, the Hermitage (France) and ended the course with a Papal audience in the Vatican.
