International Commission of Brothers Today
The International Commission of Brothers Today is composed of brothers representing the regions, who may be actual formators, or who may have had experiences of formation ministry. They are appointed by the General Council for a term of 3 years.
They serve as the links of the Secretariat to the regions and provide the Secretariat with up-to-date information about their respective realities, particularly those related to vocations ministry and formation in all stages.
The Commission also accompanies the Secretariat, along with the Link Councilors, in the reflection on how to best implement the tasks given to the Secretariat in line with the Strategic Plan of the Institute.
It is proposed that the members of the International Commission of Brothers Today be given direct involvement in the area of formation in the region. For example, they should be part of the regional formation commission, Regional Brothers Today Commission, or an equivalent body, unless they already are at the time of their appointment to the commission.
In addition, they are expected to take up a key role in the regional programs organized by the Secretariat. They may be named as the local program coordinators, or work closely with the local program coordinator(s) named by the AU leaders of the particular region.
