Interprovincial novitiate of Brasil

On 25 November 2012, the Institute of the Marist Brothers rejoiced in the religious  profession of nine young men from the Provinces of « Brasil Centro-Norte » and « Brasil Centro-Sul »: Adilson Follmann, from Iporã d’Oeste (Santa Catarina) ; Daniel Carvalho de Jesus, from Taguatinga (Federal District) ; Demilton Barbosa dos Santos, from Surubim (Pernambuco) ; Dener Rodrigues de Souza, from Silvânia (Goiás) ; Edicarlos Pereira Coelho, from Vitória da Conquista (Bahia) ; Fábio Soares do Nascimento, from Ceará-Mirim (Rio Grande do Norte) ; Gustavo Pinto Gomes Ferreira, from Barreira do Campo/Santana do Araguaia (Pará) ; Lucas José Ramos Lopes, from Santa Rita do Passa Quatro (São Paulo), and Ronivom Luiz da Silva, from Bonfinópolis de Minas (Minas Gerais).

The celebration took place in the Marist school « Conceição » in Passo Fundo.  Numerous relatives, Brothers, laity and friends of the young Brothers were faithful to the rendez-vous, coming from all over the country and from the ecclesial communities where the young Brothers carry out their pastoral work.

To consecrate one’s life to the Lord is to fully assume the baptismal vocation of a child of God. Religious consecration engages the participants in the life, holiness and  mission of the Church. They expressed this consecration through the evangelical counsels of poverty, chastity and obedience, thanks to which they will witness, as religious, that the Reign of God is possible here on earth. It was a very significant and important moment in the life of these Brothers.

Under the motto « We are brothers, simply brothers », the young men have completed a stage of their formation and a ready to begin a new one in their Marist Provinces of origin : Brothers Demilton, Dener, Fábio and Gustavo, at Belo Horizonte – MG (Brasil Centro-Norte) ; Brothers Adilson, Daniel, Edicarlos and Lucas, at Florianópolis – SC, and Brother Ronivom, at Ponta Grossa – PR (Brasil Centro-Sul). After some years of preparation, especially the last two in the novitiate, they have chosen to commit themselves in the Marist Institute to the evangelization of children, youth and adolescents, particularly those in most need. The nine young Brothers are grateful and also contribute in a significant way to the life of society and Church in Passo Fundo.
