Marcos José Broc

Extended Secretariat of Laity  (2018 – 2023)

It belongs to the province of Brasil Sul-Amazônia. He was born on November 25th, 1975. He is the son of Elsa Kovalcykoski Broc and Claudino Broc (in memory), small farmers from the municipality of Frederico Westphalen / RS. He studied philosophy at PUCRS and theology at the Superior School of Franciscan Theology and Spirituality – ESTEF, both of which were studied when he was a religious and a priest of the Religious Order of two Oblates of São Francisco de Sales (1996 – 2008).

He specialized in Marist spiritual accompaniment (2019-2020) at PUCRS with emphasis on education for interiority. Since 2004 she is part of the practical review group at the Institute of Humanization / Popular University Paulo Freire – IDH / POA. He has experience in amateur theatre, advice on religious and faith issues, housing orientation, retreats and voluntary administrative coordination in popular housing cooperatives – COOHPNORTE (2008 to 2016).

He began his Christian journey in the family, and developed leadership characteristics in Youth Ministry groups in the Diocese of Frederico Westphalen and through consultancies in other dioceses in the state. He began his work in the Marist Network as Coordinator of Human Formation in CESMAR, in Porto Alegre (2008 – 2010. Later he worked as Pastoral Advisor accompanying the Marist Social Units, as a member of the provincial team of the MYM, reference advisor for the Marist Volunteer Programme of PMBSA and pastoral accompaniment of the São Lucas Hospital (2010 – 2017).

As a lay Christian, he currently supervises the Marist laity in the Province of Brasil Sul-Amazônia. He lives in Viamão / RS, he is married to Andressa A. Jaguszewski with whom he shares the paternity/maternity of Giovana (3 years) and Isabela (2 months) – three people who are his reason for living every day”.
