Marist District of Asia young Brothers Meeting

16 young temporary professed Brothers of the Marist District of Asia gathered on august 12 at the Pastoral Center of Phnom Penh Dioceses, in Cambodia with Br. Canísio José Willrich (District Leader), Brothers Sylvain Ramandimbiarisoa, Josep Maria Soteras (General Councilors) and Br. Juan Castro (observer).

The young brothers, who came from Vietnam, China, Bangladesh, India, Cambodia, and Thailand, met under the motto ‘Faces of Hope’, in accordance with the MDA chapter theme, that takes place from the 16 till 19 August.

The face-to-face meeting was just a great opportunity for young MDA Brothers to meet and share life together after 3 years due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Each Brother was asked to share about his community life and ministry. Above all, they shared their dreams and ways to generate Marist life.

During the gathering, Br. Canisio presented and shared the three key aspects of our Marist life: Community, Spirituality and Ministry. He thanked each Brother for their availability and immediate responses, encouraging young Brothers to not worry but walk and dream together toward the future and recognize the presence of God and appreciate the gift of individual family. Br. Canisio also challenged the participants to bring ‘faces of hope’ to others especially to those in need and carry one the charism of Champagnat. The District Leader ensured his support to the young bothers for their Marist missions and ministries in communities on social media or elsewhere.

For their part, the young Brothers committed themselves to their Marist vocation and to study well, be delighted in ministries and make FMS known and loved.

At the conclusion of the meeting, it was a proposal to have Young Brothers Meeting annually.

The day before the beginning of Chapter, the young Brothers had the chance to meet Br. Ernesto Sánchez, the Superior General.
