Marist educators from Bolivia participate in a meeting with Br. Benito Arbués

The Marist Heritage team of Bolivia offered all the educators of the Sector – Santa María de los Andes Province – a virtual space for the Marist charismatic training with Brother Benito Arbués, former Superior General of the Marist Brothers and currently member of the international community of Notre-Dame de l’Hermitage, in France. The virtual meeting hold on September 17 was an enriching experience for everybody. Participants felt like a global family.
More than 100 Marist educators from Bolivia had the pleasure of meeting Brother Benito virtually. His presence, his warm welcome, his always kind smile, in addition to his deep reflection, and the challenges by which we feel questioned, were truly a blessing.
We had the pleasant surprise of being accompanied by lay Marists from Mexico, Colombia and Brazil.

Brother Benito shared with us the mission of his community at the Hermitage. He showed us photographs of the Mother House of the Marists and we realized that our hearts continue to beat, continue to vibrate with passion for those Marist places and all that they mean to us today.

The central theme was “The attitudes of Fr. Champagnat in front of crises”. He told us about Marcelino’s life, in his different stages, the different crises and the way he faced them in their context. We loved delving into these topics that are still relevant today. There was also a moment for dialogue with the participants.

Thank you very much Br. Benito because you continue to be – in your maturity of life and vocation – a light for us, the lay Marist educators. Thank you because we feel your appreciation, affection and care for the laity and your desire to continue trusting and supporting our vocation. Thank you because you continue to let yourself be guided by the Spirit of Jesus, who always makes all things new.
