II General Conference

Brother Basilio Rueda convoked the 2nd General Conference in Rome (Italy) from 7th to 21st May of 1974. The total number of Brothers taking part was 57 to whom were added the presence of the General Council, which at the time consisted of fifteen members. Brother Charles Raphael, former Superior General was also invited on this occasion.

The Conference focused its attention on the preparation for the General Chapter of 1976. Also in this Conference time was dedicated to a double theme of special significance: the introduction of the lay people in our temporal affairs and a reflection on the Hermitage and Marist places in relation to the investigation of our Marist patrimony.

The intervention of Brother Basilio Rueda, Superior General, which dealt with community life, was outstanding.
