The Marist International Solidarity Network (RMSI) is made up of the solidarity organizations of the Marist Institute (Provincial Entities, NGOs, Foundations, Associations, Provincial Teams), at the international, regional, national and provincial levels.

This Network responds to the need to join efforts in the field of solidarity, share principles and good practices. Initiatives are mainly taken at the local and regional level, but the existence of the network makes it possible to undertake some institution-wide actions if it is decided so. A global network offers incentives and encouragement to individuals and groups who may sometimes feel isolated or insecure at the local level.

RMSI is part of the Church, which wants to promote solidarity, beyond some sporadic acts of generosity, promoting a new mentality that thinks in terms of community (Evangelii Gaudium 188).

The Network wants to develop in collaboration with other entities that pursue our same objectives.

These entities can be Marists

• International, regional or provincial networks
• NGOs, Foundations, Associations…

And they can go beyond the Institute:

• Religious: congregations, dioceses.
• Civil: NGOs, associations…

This Network connects with the other global networks of the Marist Institute: Schools, Universities, Volunteers, Youth Ministry, Brother Formation and Lay Formation…

GENERAL OBJECTIVES

1. Work together as an international network of Marist Solidarity organizations in their different areas.
2. To react promptly, in a coordinated and effective manner to emergencies, particularly those connected to our environments.

VISION

To be an international network that acts jointly, committed to justice and the sustainable development of peoples (in its social, environmental and economic aspects), that believes in and fights for social transformation and development, from a Christian perspective, Marist values and respect for nature, through an integral education. Focusing on children, adolescents and young people, especially the most vulnerable and marginalized.

MISSION

As a network:

• Awareness and solidarity practices as a Marist Institute in situations that threaten the dignity of children, adolescents and young people and their communities, takes initiatives in their favor, educates in solidarity from a focus on rights and integral ecology, challenges unjust situations and structures through advocacy and promotes healthy and sustainable societies for all.
• It carries out this mission through Marist educational and social works, youth ministry programs, personal and small group commitments, and by working with like-minded groups.
