Mission Assembly in Madagascar

The Mission Assembly of the province of Madagascar took place in Fianarantsoa in September. Sixty-six Marists, including brothers and laity, participated.

They continued to reflect on what was raised in the II Marist International Mission Assembly that took place last year in Nairobi.

Each area of the country sent six participants: two brothers, two lay people and two youths that represent Marist life.

One of the goals of the meeting was to strengthen communion and promote a new relationship between brothers and laity within the Province.

The encounter, held from Sept. 10 – 12, included working in groups, seminaries, visits to places of mission of different congregations, prayer and reflection.

In the end, a call to intensify collaboration in the mission between brothers and lay people, in favor of young people and children of Madagascar, emerged from the groups.
