Up to 18 January, 14 students from the University of Harvard, USA, on the point of finishing, or having finished their studies, are taking part in an experience of liguistic, social and cultural immersion at PUCRS. The students will follow a Portuguese course for foreigners and work as volunteers in local organisations such as the Marist Social Centre (Cesmar). They will submit to a selection process carried out in partnership with Harvard University.

On Monday 7 January, the young people were welcomed by the Rector, Br Joaquim Clotet, during a ceremony held in the «Noble Room » of the Rectory. Br Clotet expressed pleasure at having these students in the University. The students are hosted by members of the academic community in their homes, thus providing a positive experience of cultural growth not only for the visitors but also for the community of   PUCRS. Organisation is in the hands of the Section of International and Inter-institutional Affairs (AAII) and the Faculty of Literature (Fale).
