Presence and Identity

On 25 August, in the Residencia Champagnat (home of our retired brothers, giving witness to many lives given for the good of our Province), the brothers and sisters working in the Marist works of Guatemala came together to share the life and journey of the Province in our II  Intercommunity Meeting.

Our reflection was accompanied by the letter sent by the Superior General concerning the election of our Brother Luis Carlos Gutiérrez Blanco as new Provincial. We divided up into small groups, shared the reading of the letter and spent personal time on working on a little card recording our dreams and concerns vis-a-vis the Superior General’s message and the holding of our XIV Provincial Chapter in December.

We befitted from the presence of Sra. Carola Muñoz, in charge of the Office of Communications, who helped us study the document: “Presence and Identity”.

For his part, Br Hipólito shared with us the path we are travelling as a Province in preparation for the II International Marist Mission Assembly and other family news which made us feel in communion with one another. We ended our meeting with theEucharist and lunch.

May Mary, woman of attentive listening, continue tuning our ears and hearts to the cry of the most needy of our society in Guatemala.
