Telling and listening to heart-warming stories

Three times a year, the Temporary Professed Brothers in Active Ministry (TPBIAM) of Philippines get together as part of their formation. It is an opportunity for the young brothers to share their experiences in the ministry as well as be renewed through the group accompaniment.

The second gathering for the year, with 9 brothers and their accompagnateur Br Ted Fernandez, was hosted by the Marikina Community on October 28-29.

Br. Lindley Sionosa, the superior of the host community, gave the input to the group.  He talked about the New Models of Animation, Governance and Management, with special attention to the initiatives adopted by the Asian Region. Furthermore, the session gave the young brothers a deeper understanding of the New Models Project, affording them a wider perspective on the Marist world and the international and global nature of the Congregation.

The heart of the gathering was the life sharing and updating. It was an occasion for each brother to share about the joys and challenges he is facing as a religious in the active ministry. Telling and listening to heart-warming stories of bliss and sorrow paves the way to a better knowledge, understanding and acceptance of self and others.  Overall, the gathering revitalized the young brothers, uplifting their spirit and giving them the needed strength in their vocation as they continue to work in the vineyard of the Lord
