To foster unity in the region

From October 8th to October 10th, Brother Jean Ronzon, Secretary General met with the Provincial Secretaries of the African Continent at the Marist International Centre in Nairobi (Kenya). These are:
1. Brother Fernand Dostie, Secretary of Southern Africa
2. Brother Christian Gisamonyo, Secretary of Africa Centre-East
3. Brother Johnson Nwokeiwu, Secretary of Nigeria
4. Brother Jean-Bruce Rasamimanana, Secretary of Madagascar
5. Brother José M. Ferre, Secretary of West Africa

The main objective of this meeting was to familiarize themselves with the Document that regulates the work of the Provincial Secretaries. Among other things that were discussed, it is important to note the following:
1. The role, the mission and the spirituality of the Provincial Secretary.
2. Communication between the Secretary General and the Provincial Secretary.
3. Communication between the Postulator and the Procurator with the Provincial Secretary.
4. How to keep the Provincial Archives

A part from that, the Provincial Secretaries of Africa and Madagascar agreed to work for a greater flow of information among the African Marist Administrative Units. The aim of this exchange of information is to foster unity in the region. This will become a reality if the Conference of the Superiors of Africa and Madagascar accepts the proposals made to them.
