Mes Bien Chers Frères,
C'est avec joie que je viens vous annoncer dès à présent la date probable de l'ouverture du prochain Chapitre Général », comme il est prévu à l'article 121 du Directoire.
Tout Chapitre Général est un moment important dans la vie d'une congrégation, mais celui-ci aura ce caractère particulier d'être le premier qui permettra de faire une évaluation capitulaire à l'égard de l'expérience de renouveau de la vie religieuse: niveau qu'il a atteint chez nous et manière dont il s'est déroulé, dans la fidélité à Vatican II et sous le souffle de l'Esprit-Saint.
La date définitive de l'ouverture officielle du Chapitre reste encore à préciser, mais d'ores et déjà on peut parler du mois de septembre 1976.
Afin de lancer au niveau de la Congrégation la préparation de ce Chapitre, le Conseil Général, selon l'article 122 du Directoire, a nommé une Commission préparatoire peu après la Conférence Générale que nous avons eue avec les Frères Provinciaux au mois de mai de cette année. Cette rencontre nous a, en effet, permis d'étudier avec eux les disponibilités de tels ou tels Frères qui nous paraissaient plus aptes à ce travail et finalement nous nous sommes arrêtés sur les noms suivants:
1. F. Quentin Duffy, Vicaire Général.
2. F. Paul Sester, Conseiller Général.
3. F. Gabriel Rodriguez, Conseiller Général.
4. F. Claudio Girardi, Directeur du Collège International (Sâo Paulo).
5. F. Antonio Carlos Ramalho (Brésil Nord).
6. F. Robert Tremblay (Lévis).
7. F. Emmanuel Azzopardi (Sydney).
8. F. Santiago Erro (Norte).
9. F. Nemesio Moreno (Chili).
10. F. Leonard Voegtle (Esopus).
Ces Frères seront mis à la disposition de l'Administration Générale pendant les deux années qui précèdent le Chapitre.
La fonction de la Commission préparatoire est indiquée dans les nn. 123-124 du Directoire. C'est à elle de trouver sa méthode de travail pour accomplir la tâche qui lui est assignée.
Par cette même circulaire, je vous invite, mes Bien Chers Frères, à une préparation personnelle, communautaire et provinciale du Chapitre, qui soit ouverte et docile à l'Esprit-Saint. Ce n'est pas notre œuvre que nous faisons, mais celle du Seigneur et nous pouvons la faire dans l'enthousiasme si nous nous appuyons sur Lui.

Dear Brothers,
In accordance with what is laid down in Article • 121 of the Directory, I am happy to announce by this letter the probable date for the opening of the next General Chapter.
Every Chapter is important in the life of a Congregation, but this coming one will have a special character as being the first that will allow an evaluation of the experience of renewal of Religious Life— the level it has attained in our Congregation, and the manner in which it has been carried out in fidelity to Vatican II and to the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.
The month of September 1976, has been chosen, but the date of the official opening will be announced later.
In accordance with Article 122 of the Directory, the General Council has named the Preparatory Commission to be responsible for this preparation throughout the Institute. This nomination was made after discussion with the Brothers Provincial at the General Conference in May when we saw what Brothers could be made available for this work. A final decision was arrived at in naming the following Brothers:
1. Brother Quentin Duffy, Vicar General.
2. Brother Paul Sester, Councillor General.
3. Brother Gabriel Rodriguez, Councillor General.
4. Brother Claudio Girardi, Director of the International College. (Sao Paolo).
5. Brother Antonio Carlos Ramalho (North Brasil).
6. Brother Robert Tremblay (Levis, Canada).
7. Brother Emmanuel Azzopardi (Sydney, Australia).
8. Brother Santiago Erro (Norte, Spain).
9. Brother Nemisio Moreno (Chili).
10. Brother Leonard Voegtle (Esopus, U.S.A.).
These Brothers will be seconded to the General Administration for the two years that precede the Chapter.
The work of the Preparatory Commission is outlined in Article 123, 124 and 127 of the Directory. The Commission will determine its own method of working.
I take this opportunity of inviting all the Brothers to prepare for the Chapter by personal effort, in community and within the Province, always remaining open and attentive to the Holy Spirit. It is not our work that we do, but the Lord's; and we can do it with enthusiasm only if we rely on Him.

Muy queridos Hermanos:
Es para mí un placer el dirigirme a todos vosotros para anunciaros ya, a tenor del artículo 121 del Directorio. la fecha probable de apertura » del próximo Capítulo General.
Cierto que todo Capítulo General constituye de por sí un hecho importante en la vida de una Congregación. El que yo os anuncio reviste, además, la peculiaridad siguiente: en él va a ser sometida a evaluación nuestra actual experiencia de renovación de vida religiosa: nivel a que se ha llegado; cauces por los que ha discurrido, dentro de la fidelidad al Concilio Vaticano II y a impulsos del soplo del Espíritu.
Queda todavía por fijar con exactitud y en forma definitiva la fecha del Capítulo. Pero demos ya por buena, a partir de este momento, la de septiembre de 1976.
Afanoso el Consejo General de lanzar a escala institucional la preparación del Capítulo que se nos avecina, ha procedido a designar, de acuerdo con el artículo 122 del Directorio, una Comisión preparatoria (organizadora, como se lee en el texto español), y lo ha hecho a poco de haberse celebrado la II Conferencia General de Provinciales, encuentro que tuvo lugar, como sabéis, en mayo último y que procuró al Consejo General la ocasión de considerar, a una con los Provinciales, aquellas cualidades y disponibilidad que aparecían en ciertos Hermanos, como
las más aptas para llevar a cabo un trabajo eficiente en la Comisión preparatoria.
Os presento, ahora que ya están designados, a los miembros de dicha Comisión:
1. H. Quentin Duffy, Vicario General.
2. H. Paul Sester, Consejero General.
3. H. Gabriel Rodríguez, Consejero General.
4. H. Claudio Girardi, Director del Colegio Internacional (Sáo Paulo).
5. H. Ramalho (Brasil Norte).

7. H. Emmanuel Azzopardi (Sydney).
8. II. Santiago Erro (Norte).
9. H. Nemesio Moreno (Chile).

Todos estos Hermanos quedarán a disposición de la Administración General durante el bienio que preceda al Capítulo.
Señala el Directorio (artículos 123-124) cuáles sean la misión y las funciones de la Comisión preparatoria. Figura entre ellas la de trazarse el método de trabajo que juzgue más idóneo para desempeñar cual conviene el cometido que se le ha encomendado.
Yo quisiera hacer de estas líneas, mis queridos Hermanos, una invitación a empeñaros en una preparación seria del Capítulo, tanto a nivel personal, como de comunidad y provincia. Preparación, en la que apertura y docilidad al Espíritu Santo deben ir cogidas de la mano.
Sabemos que no es nuestra la obra que intentamos realizar, sino de Dios. ¡Adelante, pues, con entusiasmo y fiados por completo en Él!

Prezados Irmãos,
É com muita alegria que lhes anuncio, desde agora, a data provável da abertura do proximo Capítulo Geral, conforme prescrição do artigo 121 das – Normas.
Qualquer capítulo é momento importante na vida de uma Congregação. Este terá características especiais. Será o primeiro a permitir uma avaliação capitular, no tocante à experiência de renovação da vida religiosa. Nível desta renovação, entre nós e modo como se processou, na fidelidade ao Vaticano II e 1 inspiração do Espírito Santo.
A data definitiva da abertura do Capítulo será marcada oportunamente, — mas, desde agora, podemos indicar setembro de 1.976.
Para empenhar toda a Congregação na preparação do Capítulo, o Conselho — Geral, seguindo as recomendações do artigo 122 das Normas, nomeou uma Comissão preparatória, pouco depois da Conferência Geral dos Irmãos Provinciais, em maio p.p. Este encontro nos permitiu estudar com eles, a disponibilidade de tal ou tal Irmão que nos parecia qualificado para este trabalho. Finalmente, nos fixamos nos seguintes nomes:

2 – I. Paul Sester, Conselheiro Geral,

Por esta mesma circular, convido-os, prezados Irmãos ,a uma preparação pessoal, comunitária e provincial do Capítulo, aberta e dócil ao Espírito Santo. Não é nossa obra que está em jogo, mas a do Senhor. Podemos dedicar-nos a ela com entusiasmo, se nos apoiarmos nole.
