December 1, 2017: World AIDS Day

World AIDS Day was observed by Operation Rainbow with students and staff of R.C. Middle School, UKT Malai, Trichy.

About 80 students and the staff par-ticipated in the HIV/AIDS awareness campaign promoting the theme: ‘Right to Health’. . Br. Saul Placious, the Director of Operation Rainbow, talked about the realities of HIV positive children in the world today and how they are being deprived of proper education and health care services. He called for an action that protects their dignity and rights and ensures quality and affordable medical care, leaving no one behind. Rev. Sr. Nirmala, the Principal of the School, invited the students to accept, relate with and care for those children whose lives haven been devastated by such tragedy as they cannot be held accountable for the situation or health condition that they are suffering from. Everyone took the oath with a candle light to end AIDS and care for those affected by it.
