Five young men proclaimed as postulants

The Marist Brothers of the Philippine Sector headed by Br. Manuel V. De Leon, FMS proclaimed five young aspirants as postulants last November 20, 2010, at Marist Aspirancy Chapel, lagao, Gen. Santos City. It was done during the anticipated Mass of the Feast of Christ the King which was presided by Rev. Fr. Gillarme Joy Peliño, a Diocesan priest assigned at DXCP, Gen. Santos City.The theme of the Rite of Proclamation, ?With Mary: New Marists towards a New Land,? is the challenge of the XXI General Chapter of the Marist Brothers to the newly proclaimed postulants of the Philippine Sector.Br. Demosthenes Calabria, FMS, the Director of Aspirancy Postulancy House presented the following to the Brother Provincial for proclamation: 1. Raffy James Barnuevo from Norala of the Diocese of Marbel 2. John Emil Alada from Tantangan of the Diocese of Marbel 3. Harry Gullon from Upi of the Archdiocese of Cotabato 4. Gerex Cabajes from Buda of the the Diocese of Malaybalay 5. and Richie dean Bagsican from Polomolok of the Diocese of MarbelThe said gathering was attended by the parents of the postulants, Marist Brothers from Lagao, Dadiangas, Marbel and Cotabato community and Sisters coming from different congregations as well as friends and benefactors of the Brothers. A simple fellowship meal followed at the Province Center.This stage of formation to become a Marist Brother aims to help the postulant deepen his discernment process in order to have clarity of response by joining formative activities and courses offered offered at the Formation House of the Brothers. This will lead to their decision whether they will seek admission to the Novitiate.
