Marist Brothers Cemetery in Esopus is expanded

The Marist Brothers Center at Esopus, located 150km north of New York City, inaugurated their expansion work on All Souls Day, Nov. 2, during which a prayer service was held.

Over 40 Brothers and lay Marists took part in the service, led by Father Father Eugene J. Grohe, rector of Sacred Heart Church in Esopus.

Provincial superior Brother Patrick McNamara offered words of gratitude on behalf of the province “to all who have made and continue to make the sacred space even more beautiful.”

The Marist Brothers Center in Esopus began planning an expansion for the cemetary on their property earlier this year.

Michael Trainor, Tom Brophy and Brother Owen Ormsby helped the renovation work.
