Dear Marist Young Adults,
With summer in full swing, it is important to take some time to cool off. One way that we can "cool off" or "chill" from our chaotic work and school schedules is through reflection.
During my times of reflection, one thought that keeps coming to mind is the influence that young people can have on the world. Through music, arts, academics, athletics, innovations, and social media, we put our own special stamp on society. Here's the thing about all that positive energy: unless we harness it and use it for good, it does nothing!
I have seen a lot of positive energy this year in the Marist Young Adult Program. From regional events to online activities people have been engaged in service, social and spiritual endeavors. The future looks bright with record numbers attending the summer events that have already taken place. Take some time to "cool off" this summer and participate in a Marist Young Adult event.
Part of the great success this year has been due to the "got marist?" campaign, which raises awareness of the Marist missions in Jamaica, as well as interest in our own program. As young adults, we should use our energy and influence to raise awareness for those causes closest to our hearts. Take a moment to consider what cause is close to your heart. How can you take charge of your own faith and make Jesus known and loved through that cause?
Young adults, we've got power! It comes from above. Take some time to "cool off" and "chill" to discover the power within and then go make a difference!
God bless you all, and keep living Marist!
