Provincial Council

The Provincial Council met in Mindelheim from 23 – 24th November. This was the second meeting of the Provincial Council in Mindelheim in the space of a month. The Council appreciates the hospitality of the community and the facilities available for meetings. In the space of four days the community hosted meetings of the Safeguarding officers, the Finance Commission and the provincial Council. Brother Brendan thanked Mr Wolfgang Laug, in particular for the organisation and preparation of the meetings. The next meeting of the Provincial Council will be in Rome from 25 – 27th January.

Finance Commission

The Finance Commission of the Province of Europe Centre-Ouest met in Mindelheim on Friday, 23rd November. This was an important meeting as it marked the transition of responsibility for finances in the Province from Brother Maurice Taildeman (Belgium) to Brother Ronnie McEwan (Scotland). Brother Maurice Taildeman served the Province as bursar for nine years. The Provincial expressed words of gratitude at a celebration meal that was held in Mindelheim. The members of the Finance Commission are: Brother Ronnie McEwan (Bursar), Mr Gerry Devlin (assistant Bursar), Brother Maurice Taildeman, Dr. Marco Erhart, and Brother P.J. McGowan. Brother Colin Chalmers, (Scotland) is the Secretary to the Finance Commission. The Provincial expressed his gratitude to the Commission for the important work that is done to care for the finances of the Province.
