Prov. of Nigeria: Reception for 2012-2014 postulants

Freedom becomes the most fragile gift’ that any human being has, says Very Rev. Br. Fabian P. Nwadilioha Nneazota Okeke fms.  To manage such gift one must be like the boy Samuel whom listened to his master instructions.  He did this in faith, and in acceptance of his will.  One can imagine what was going on in his mind, when his master said: “Go and lie down, I did not call you”.  It’s not annoying when someone wake you up in a deep sleep and tells you I did not call/wake you up?  At times it is difficult to sleep again.  You could imagine what the boy Samuel went through, it was four good times within a short night of less than 7 hours.  He had no idea it was God calling, neither did the master know.

My dear friend, can you see how God waits for us in different ways and at different times!  God was waiting for Samuel’s permission before He could talk to him.  He allows Samuel to pass through the distraction of this world, ask for help/direction and be disposed to listen to Him.

Today 18 gentle men left their homes to be helped and be directed, like Samuel to listen to God.  They requested the provincial, Br Jack Okoye-Ezetulugo to allow them to be officially accepted as postulants.  This colourful ceremony took place during Holy Mass at 11am on Saturday 20th Oct, 2012 at MFC Orlu.
