Br Gérard Bachand

The General Council has appointed Brother Gérard Bachand as provincial superior of Canada for a second term in office.

In a letter to the province’s Brothers, Br Gérard noted that “unprecedented challenges await us over the next three years.”

“Perhaps the greatest challenge will be to ensure the Marist mission (the Marist charism) in our province for a long time to come,” he added.

“I invite each and every one of you to be attentive and creative about the choices we will have to make,” Br Gérard went on. “By relying on the Holy Spirit, Mary our Good Mother and our beloved founder, I am confident that we will journey in peace and serenity towards the unknown.”

Br Gérard will begin his second triennial on Dec. 2, during the provincial chapter.
