FMSI visited Marist social works in Colombia

FMSI representatives, Rita Pala, project manager, and Marcello Romagnoli, administrative manager, visited Colombia, from February 3 to 4, with the aim of learning more about the different social projects being developed in the country. FMSI’s main objective was to share experiences on the administrative, solidarity and accounting dynamics related to project management and fundraising in Colombia.

During the first week, Rita and Marcello met with those responsible for the solidarity area of the Norandina Province, who received training in strategic planning, reporting and fundraising for solidarity. In addition to these trainings, they had the opportunity to exchange experiences based on the reality of each country.

After this intense week of training, Rita and Marcello visited social works in Bogotá (Corazón sin Fronteras Santa Fe and Casa Loma), in Medellín (Santo Domingo) and Corazón sin Fronteras – Maicao on the border with Venezuela. During these visits, they had the opportunity to speak with the leaders of each social work and understand their realities, as well as to interact with the beneficiary children and some volunteers.

To conclude their visit to Colombia, FMSI representatives met with those who lead the administrative, accounting, financial, technological and communications areas of the Colombian Administration.

In general terms, the objective of this visit was to better understand social projects in Colombia and share experiences related to project management and fundraising.
