Meeting of the Regional Committee of América Sur

On July 10-12, the Regional Committee of América Sur met in Porto Alegre, Province of Brasil Sul-Amazônia. It is made up of two people from each of the five Administrative Units that make up the Region, together with the coordinating Provincial, Brother Deivis Alexandre Fischer, of the Province of Brasil Sul-Amazônia, and the Executive Secretary, Leonardo Soares.

The general objective of the meeting was to strengthen the Marist way in the Region. In particular, the following topics were discussed:

  • the internal regulations of the Region
  • the alignment of the last regional assembly with the council and the statutes of the Region.
  • the construction of the Region’s strategic plan based on the five strategic objectives of the Region.
  • articulation with the General Administration.

Some of the priorities highlighted are: spirituality, vocation animation, solidarity, initial and ongoing formation and youth ministry.

Br. Goyo Linacero, assistant to the General Econome and Project Manager of the Strategic Plan of the General Administration, also attended the meeting.
