2018-10-10 GENERAL HOUSE

Servant leadership

Today, Oct. 10, is the first-year anniversary since the General Council was elected during the Institute’s XXII General Chapter which took place in Rionegro, Colombia, from Sept. 8 – Oct. 20, 2017.

The General Council is made up of Brothers Ben Consigli (United States), João Carlos do Prado (Brasil Centro-Sul), Josep Maria Soteras (L’Hermitage), Kenneth Charles McDonald (Australia), Óscar Martín Vicario (Compostela) and Sylvain Ramandimbiarisoa (Madagascar).

Chosen one week after the election of superior general Brother Ernesto Sánchez and vicar general Brother Luis Carlos Gutiérrez, the members of the Council are accompanying them in the leadership and animation of the Institute for an eight-year term (2017-2025).

In this past year, the Council and the superior and vicar general have been leading the Institute according to the calls of the General Chapter.

The Institute is grateful for the Council’s hard work and leadership, and all Marist brothers and laity across the world hope to continue to show their support and unity through co-responsibility and prayer.
