Spanish Marist Conference focuses on formation

The four Marist provinces with works in Spain gathered for the assembly of representatives of the Spanish Marist Conference (CME) in Madrid for three days on Nov. 23.

“It is a place where reflection plays an important role in bringing up issues that concern us and will then be developed in the Provinces,” said Brother Ambrosio Alonso, Provincial of Ibérica.

“Under the horizon towards a new beginning, this is a very opportune moment to devote our time to reviewing and updating the general design of Marist formation,” added Br Ambrosio in a statement on the Conference website.

Once the conference began, Brother Andreu P. Sánchez, secretary of the CME, reported on the work dynamics of the three days and presented the objectives the organizing committee had set.

Participants also included general councillor Brother Ernesto Sánchez, who presented ‘A vision for the future on the Marist Educator and coordinators of Ministry.’

He made a brief analysis of the state of the Marist Institute and encouraged participants to enter the “future of close communion between brothers and laity training and to make the best bet.”

Br Ernesto encouraged to never lose the passion for educating in order to “always give priority to the basics and to be able to identify the ‘non-negotiable’.”
