« The future will have your eyes »

« The future will have your eyes » : this was the leitmotiv guiding the retreat animated by Br Javier Espinosa from 18 to 22 December in Los Teques, Venezuela. The group of participants was composed of 28 brothers working in Venezuela, one brother working in Ecuador, a lay Marist, and a postulant who is preparing soon to enter the novitiate of Medellín. We benefitted from the presence and accompaniment of Br Libardo Garzón, Provincial.

Br Javier E. raised for each of us moments of personal confrontation which helped us to reflect. What is the ‘dream’ of God in my life ? What to do so that the expression « new Marists to a new land » becomes a reality ?

These were five days of  grace ; of encounter with God, with oneself, with the community, the Province, the Institute. Days of conversion, conducted by our good Mother as guide and companion on the journey.

Faithful to sound Marist tradition, we renewed our commitment as consacrated persons during the closing Mass. At the end of the celebration, each participant received from Br Provincial a simple but very beautiful souvenir : a little tablet with the inscription : « The future will have your eyes ».
