The Provincial Assembly brings together the Marist Brothers of Centro Norte
The Brothers of the Marist Province of Brasil Centro-Norte met from the 26th to the 30th October for the Provincial Assembly – Our Fraternity is a Beacon of Hope, through the Team and Zoom platforms. Motivated by the priorities of the Provincial Chapter, the Assembly was structured and planned around these central themes: Consecration, Option for the Poor, Mission and Fraternity. In addition, the organization of the event had four major panels: Voice of the Institute, Voice of the Church, Voice of the World and Voice of the Province.
The Assembly was a reference point, which presented the central elements to the Provincial Council so that the brothers could continue the management and monitoring of the provincial processes. The brothers focused on essential issues, such as the organizational model of the Religious Organization.
On the first day of the meeting, the Provincial Assembly was attended by the Vicar General of the Marist Institute, Brother Luis Carlos Gutiérrez, from the panel The Voice of the Institute, who highlighted the theme of Consecration and Fraternity. Father Francisco Aquino Júnior was part of the panel The Voice of the Church, and dealt with the theme Mission and Option for the Poor.
In the course of the programme, the pre-launching of the Plan of Ongoing Formation took place, and the high point was the 28th October, when the Meeting of Fr. Champagnat with Montagne was held, a significant milestone in Marist history, which the Assembly celebrated with a community meeting and a provincial Eucharistic celebration. Looking to the future, the Marist Province of Brasil Centro-Norte is preparing to take care of spirituality and relationships, so that fraternity will be a prophetic sign of Marist Life; to guarantee the integrity of evangelising education; to strengthen the culture of solidarity, of citizenship and of ecology; to improve the organizational model, the flows and the processes in the light of the principles of corporate governance. These are the provincial priorities. And we remember that a dream that is dreamt together is the beginning of a new reality.
