With the ancient is wisdom

Awakening the dawn … new ways of being Brother … new ways of being in mission … the call to be mystic and prophet for today’s world …  so many themes call for our attention. How can they be deepened and integrated into the life of our Brothers?

Such was the background to the meeting in Rome of coordinators of Third Age formation programs for the different language groups of the Institute – French, English and Spanish/Portuguese. The meeting took place October 3-5 at the General House guided by Brothers Eugène Kabanguka and César Rojas. Attended the meeting Brothers Bernard Beaudin and Maurice Goutagny for French, Michael Sexton and Donnell Neary for English, Landelino Ortego Guerreroand José Kremmer Feix for Spanish/Portuguese, Barry Burns and Antoine Kazindu who have been running the program for English speaking for the last six years. Brother Anthony Hunt who is full time administrator for both programs attended too.

In a very brotherly atmosphere of sharing and listening the meeting was able to draw on the experience of those formators who have already animated the Third Age programs.  Thanks especially to Barry and Antoine who will soon finish their long years of service in this animation.

The next stage of the dynamic allowed the formators time to work in language groups, reflecting together and developing ideas for their particular programs.  The whole group came back together at regular intervals so that ideas and wisdom could be shared and so that, as far as possible, we could move forward together in our planning.

“With the ancient is wisdom; and in length of days understanding.”  Job 12
