Evangelisation and School Pastoral Care in the Province of Brasil Centro-Sul

The Province of Brasil Centro-Sul has just launched the document “Escola em Pastoral – Evangelisation and School Pastoral of the PMBCS”. During its presentation, the provincial, Brother Benê Oliveira, underlined that “the document portrays the challenge and the efforts of our schools and social institutions, which are new and urgent areopagi for cultural, educational and evangelising transformation that still face the ‘unknown God’ (cf. Acts 17,23)”.

The “Escola em Pastoral” is a support for those responsible for Evangelisation and School Pastoral Care to orientate objectives and strategies in view of an outcome that will become new levels, planning and re-dimensioning.

The document was designed to offer a Christian, Catholic and Marist pathway, capable of leading young people towards an encounter with God, with a dynamic of spiritual life and the discovery of the true meaning of life. It has six chapters, entitled: Horizons, Evangelising Education, Evangelising Curriculum, Evangelising Education Partners, Pastoral Planning and Governance.

This is the fundamental document for evangelisation in the basic education units of the Marist Group, which is part of the Marist Province of Brasil Centro-Sul. Present in the states of Paraná, Santa Catarina, São Paulo, Mato Grosso do Sul, Distrito Federal and the city of Goiânia. The Marist Group operates in the areas of education (from school to university) and health (through its hospitals) and works to promote a better world, more humane and in solidarity, and encourages the experience and spread of human, Christian and Marist values.
