Kumasi Novitiates receives 8 novices

The novitiate in Kumasi, in Ghana received eight novices on 11th September 2021 in a habit-taking ceremony held during Vespers in the community chapel. Four of these novices come from the Province of Nigeria, while the other four are from the Marist Province of West Africa. They are:

  • Allahodjim Sidoine – West Africa
  • Chin Emile  Burinyuy – West Africa
  • Chukwujindu Paulinus – Nigeria
  • Ibe Ifeanyichukwu Anthony – Nigeria
  • Kama Kingsley Chukwuebuka – Nigeria
  • Mbiyiwoh Celestine  Taniyokwi – West Africa
  • Obi-Okoye Anthony Arinze – Nigeria
  • Togyanouba Honore – West Africa

Otherwise known as the canonical year, the first year of novitiate formation officially starts during the habit-taking ceremony. This also marks the beginning of the formation year.

Aside from those named above, there are also four second year novices.
