Perpetual profession of Br. Peter Zulu

Brother Peter Zulu, Province of Southern Africa, celebrated his Final Profession on 17 October 2020 at Chassa Parish, in Zambia. The main celebrant at Holy Mass was the Bishop George Cosmas Zumaire Lungu of Chipata Diocese. The Provincial Superior, Br. Norbert Mwila, received the Final Vows on behalf of the Superior General, Br. Ernesto Sánchez.

About 20 Brothers attended the celebration, including representatives of all the communities in Zambia (Lusaka, Saint Paul’s, Saint Marcellin’s and Chassa); Provincial councillors Brothers Francis Jumbe, Fortune Chakasara and Evans Musakanya; and 3 Brothers from Malawi.

The community of Chassa Secondary School and groups of the Chassa’s Parish animated all the aspects of the feast.

The homily from the Rev. Bishop Lungu challenged the Brothers to be present to the youth that are confided to their care in the schools they operate. The support from various bodies, such as religious men and women, and pupils from Saints Peter and Paul Day School and Chassa Secondary School was overwhelming. A special gift for Brother Peter was the presence of both his parents and some two dozen family members and friends.

Br. Peter belongs to the Community of St Joseph’s Marist College, Rondebosch, Cape Town, in South Africa. He works as teacher and as Vocation Promoter.
