Festival of Lights, Deepavali, and Children’s Day in Trichy

The Festival of Lights, Deepavali, and Children’s Day were joyously celebrated on Sunday, November5, 2023, at the Marcellin Trust-Operation Rainbow project, Trichy. The event was graced by Mrs.Parameswari, a Counselor from the District Child Protection Unit in Trichy, who served as the ChiefGuest. She emphasized the importance of child safety and urged children to dial 1098 if theyencounter any issues threatening their rights or safety.

The event also welcomed special guests including Mr. Johnson Sahayanathan, a retired teacher, Br.Chinnappan, the Correspondent of Marist Nursery Primary School, and Br. Jeyaraj. The atmospherewas enlivened by student volunteers from St. Joseph’s Arts and Science College, BharathidasanUniversity, and Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan Arts and Science College, Trichy, who entertained thecrowd a variety of cultural dances, songs, and more.

Children from the Rainbow project participated in a speech competition about Children’s Day andwere awarded prizes. Fun games like musical chairs were organized for the school children, withwinners receiving prizes. The day was filled with laughter and joy as everyone, including the specialguests, cut the cake and danced. The festivities also included a fireworks display that was enjoyedby all.

Everyone was served a delicious lunch, Diwali sweets, and rations. The event was smoothlyfacilitated by the Marcellin Club members and Rainbow staff. A special thanks to Mrs. Reeta and herteam for the delicious lunch. The day was memorable and filled with joy, leaving everyone with asmile on their faces.
